Project Overview
In August 2019, after a team reorganization, your focus shifted to sorting out, understanding, and refactoring a series of services tied to the company's core assets (DEX, CDP, and more). The work at this stage was no longer about building new features, but about digging into existing complex systems to do reverse engineering and documentation — specifically Community-Service, Chain-Service, Cdp-Service, Dex-Service, and others. The core goal was to produce clear architecture diagrams, flowcharts, and UML diagrams for these systems, laying the groundwork for future maintenance and refactoring.
Technical Architecture
This was a technically heterogeneous, complex system, and the direction of your learning and research during this period reflects its breadth:
- Core services:
Spring Boot,MySQL,Redis - Message queues:
RabbitMQ - Blockchain internals:
Go,C++,Lua,Rust(as targets for research and code understanding) - Related clients:
Swift,Objective-C
Key Features
1. System Mapping and Documentation
The core deliverable of this work was not code, but high-value architecture documentation. You had to read and understand complex, undocumented code, clarify service boundaries, data flows, and call relationships, and present them as architecture diagrams and flowcharts. It was a key step in the transition from programmer to architect, demonstrating your ability to master complex systems.
2. Core Business Logic Research
The project involved some of the most core and complex business logic in blockchain finance — CDP (collateralized debt positions), DEX (decentralized exchange), matching algorithms, and cross-chain operations. Understanding this business was a prerequisite for mapping and refactoring the system, and the technical challenge was considerable.
3. Broadening Technical Horizons
To understand and map these services, your learning goals expanded accordingly. You started looking into RabbitMQ to understand asynchronous decoupling, and learning Go/Rust to read blockchain internals. This process greatly broadened your technical horizons and laid a solid foundation for the road ahead.
