Golang Learning and Practice Summary
Learning Background
In the third quarter of 2023, I began systematically learning the Golang programming language. With the rise of microservice architectures and cloud-native technologies, Golang has become one of the top choices for building modern distributed systems, thanks to its simplicity, efficiency, and strong concurrency support.
Key Concepts
1. Syntax Basics
Golang’s syntax is relatively clean, dropping some of the complex features found in traditional object-oriented languages so that developers can focus more on implementing business logic.
2. Concurrency Model
Golang provides powerful concurrency support through goroutines and channels, making it simple and efficient to write highly concurrent programs.
3. Interface Design
Golang interfaces are implemented implicitly, which provides greater flexibility.
4. Memory Management
Golang has automatic garbage collection, which relieves developers of much of the memory management burden.
Hands-On Practice
During my learning, I practiced mainly in the following ways:
- Learning the Gin framework to build web applications
- Practicing database operations with GORM
- Managing dependencies with Go Modules
- Building a microservices project to see how Golang is used in distributed systems
Key Takeaways
By systematically learning Golang, I not only picked up a modern programming language but, more importantly, came to understand its philosophy of simple design and the mindset behind high-concurrency programming. This has been a great help for my future work in technical architecture design and system optimization.
